Students choose their colours, glue in the felt padding that gives the charm its plump ravioli shape, close it up, punch the stitching holes, saddle-stitch by hand and burnish the edges to finish. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eSaddle-stitching is the technique Simone most wants to teach. Much of the collection has moved onto the machine to keep the work accessible, but hand-stitching is still how she would finish every piece at the workbench if time and cost weren't factors. This course allows students to learn it properly on something small.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe leather is offcuts from simétrie bag production ~ the pieces are too small for a bag and too good for landfill. Finding real uses for them is part of the work towards a more circular atelier.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eStudents choose their leather from the full simétrie range, including three new colours, Fig, Almond and Peppercorn, and their hardware in gold or silver.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eNo experience is needed and nothing to prepare.
