gaze belt / black rock
For years, I've been searching for the right belt ~ something with character but still refined enough for everyday wear. Being a bag maker, I thought about creating it myself, but belts are different territory. The leather I use comes from the shoulder section of the hide, which is actually smaller than what's typically used for belts. It's still excellent leather, just means working within tighter constraints to get the full size range I wanted.
The custom brass buckle is shaped like an eye ~ representing the careful attention that goes into every cut and stitch, and that moment of connection when someone notices those details that make this work distinctive. Made from the same Australian bovine leather as our bags, crafted through our network of Victorian makers, and finished here in my Brunswick atelier.
Months of development led to this ~ longer than expected, but that's what creating something from scratch actually takes.

This is a new manufacturing model for simétrie ~ where we will schedule regular made-to-batch drops for you to place your order.
We are trying this method to limit any waste in production, where we might over-order in some sizes and be left with too much stock. While we mainly make what is needed, we will order minimal additional sizes with each batch to try and have some stock available for those last minute gifts!

XS: 90.5cm total length (67-82cm range, 74.5cm middle hole)
S: 98cm total length (74.5-89.5cm range, 82cm middle hole)
M: 105.5cm total length (82-97cm range, 89.5cm middle hole)
L: 113cm total length (89.5-104.5cm range, 97cm middle hole)
XL: 120.5cm total length (97-112cm range, 104.5cm middle hole)
XXL: 128cm total length (104.5-119.5cm range, 112cm middle hole)
If you have a belt that fits well: Measure from the buckle to the hole you actually use. Match that number to our middle hole measurements so you have room to adjust as your body changes.
If you don't: Put on the clothes you'd wear with this belt. Measure around your waist or hips (wherever you plan to wear it) and match that measurement to the middle hole.
Worth knowing: Waist and hip measurements can differ by quite a bit depending on your shape. Think about where you'll wear the belt and whether you want the versatility to style it both ways. Leather stretches about 2.5cm over time, so aim for the middle hole when new.
