private in-studio workshop
Are you a beginner or interested in taking your leathercraft or bag-making practice further with a tailored learning experience?
Simone offers tailored 1:1 workshop sessions in our Brunswick atelier, perfect for those looking to develop their bag-making skills in a focused environment. Working with our professional tools and machines, you'll learn specialist techniques, including bag design, bag pattern-making, cutting, skiving, hand and machine sewing, edge finishing, zip insertion, tabs and pocket constructions.
Workshop options:
~ an introduction to bag pattern-making can be completed in a 3-hour session
~ a card wallet project is achievable in a 3-hour session for those with prior sewing or craft experience - it's an excellent introduction to essential techniques like saddle-stitching, skiving and edge finishing
~ creating a complete bag, from pattern-making to finished piece, typically requires 12 hours depending on your skill level so multiple sessions will need to be booked
~ if you have a design already in mind, Simone can prepare the pattern ahead of the class and potentially teach you to make it in the session. This could take one or more sessions, depending on complexity. The time for Simone to prepare the pattern will be priced on top of your contact hours.
Materials and resources: This is an all-inclusive workshop experience. You'll have access to all simétrie leathers, hardware, and reinforcement materials to explore your bag-making goals.
Depending on your current skill level and learning goals, you may wish to book multiple sessions to explore your chosen project. These workshops also make the perfect gift for someone creative who wants to start from the beginning or elevate their bag-making practice.
