petit figura tote / almond
The Petit Figura Tote carries the fullness of the Figura Tote at a smaller scale. It's wider than it is tall, and made for leisure rather than work ~ for the days you're carrying for pleasure. It begins in the same place, with the statue in the Tarxien temple ruins in Malta, a neolithic temple older than the pyramids at Giza. Only her lower half remains, but at full size she would have stood almost three metres tall, and wide at the hips. Very wide. It was her size I loved most. Being in a bigger body myself, working in fashion where we're pressured to be smaller, I often haven't felt welcome. Finding her felt like finding my place. The bean base and widening body are her hips and legs, the pleat down the middle is the separation of her legs, and the dip in the topline is for the lumps and bumps of a natural body.
Almond is the colour of almond biscotti, lightly toasted. I named it for the nut that turned up in so many of the dishes and desserts I grew up with.

Christmas ~
Six Christmas places, shared between the Figura Tote and Petit Figura Tote, are open until Sunday 22 November or until they’re taken. Each comes with a Figura solid perfume from the launch night [nothing to add to your cart].
After that, made-to-order totes are posted from the second week of January.
Ready-to-ship totes ~ order by Thursday 17 December [east coast and Adelaide] or Monday 14 December [WA and NT].
